Course Description:

Teachers love asking students to revise, but the process itself often stumps them. Revision just means proofread, right? Nope! Revision is truly that—re-enVISIONing their writing in a fresh and critical way. But it’s not an easy process, as all writers will attest; in fact, it takes a lot of practice!

In this course, students will explore texts from established writers that reflect how a story, essay, or poem transforms from its first draft to its last. We’ll read examples of writing at various stages of the revision process, and then students will use their own writing as source texts as we go from rough draft to polished product.
