I grew up on the East Coast, and I have lived in Florida, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Washington, D.C. I earned my BA in Economics and History from Boston University in 2005 and my JD from George Washington University Law School in 2008.
After graduating from law school, I began working as a professional academic and SAT tutor because of the challenging legal market. However, I soon discovered that I enjoyed tutoring much more than working in the legal field. I love the one-on-one connection of tutoring and live for the “a-ha” moments when students realize they can accomplish their goals. I strive to impart not just test-taking skills, but also life skills and a passion for studies. My students thrive with my combination of positive encouragement and motivation.
I am excited to be the Director of our San Jose office and to help AJ Tutoring provide outstanding support to students throughout the South Bay Area.
In my spare time, you’ll find me reading (especially history books), hiking, and baking. I’m also learning to be a San Francisco Giants fan after a lifetime rooting for the Atlanta Braves!
