I was born in Mexico and raised in Santa Cruz, California. I obtained my Associates Degree in Spanish and Spanish literature at Cabrillo College in Aptos, California. I then went on to major in History and Entrepreneurship at UC Santa Barbara.
During my time at UC Santa Barbara, I was one of the founders of the Entrepreneurs Association, a business, entrepreneurship, and technology club where we mentored and empowered younger students with business acumen, skills, and experience that will bolster their success as future business leaders and contributors of society.
As you can see, I have a pretty diverse range of interests! Naturally curious, I’ve always enjoyed sharing those interests with peers who hadn’t quite made the connection from what they were learning in class to what they were experiencing in real life. I’ve found that making that connection is crucial for students to dive in to a subject and commit themselves to learning its in’s and out’s.
My tutoring style is based on the needs of the individual students. Some learn visually and tangible, others prefer to absorb information audibly. Understanding these idiosyncrasies in learning style, organizational method, and skill-building is key to a successful tutoring experience. I pride myself on my flexibility and dynamic teaching approach that inspires my students to grow in their own ways.
When I am not tutoring, I like to watch live sports events, attend concerts, and go hiking!
