Throughout my ten years of classroom experience, I have worked with students at all levels across many subjects and who present a great variety of needs. I have experience in American and French universities, high schools, and middle schools, and I welcome the challenges and solutions that accompany diverse, interested, and curious students.
My academic journey and love of learning culminated in a Ph.D. in French Language and Literatures from the Ohio State University. I have used my expertise in language, literature, and history to engage and delight students no matter what the discipline. I particularly enjoy tutoring French, English, reading, writing, history, and literature. In addition to teaching, I spent a number of years editing textbooks and digital educational materials for World Languages and English (including reading and writing manuals).
As a highly motivated and passionate educator with a strong background in accommodating students with diverse learning styles and educational strengths, I am confident that my commitment to helping students achieve their goals will go a long way in encouraging them to reach their potential.
Outside of the offices of AJ Tutoring, I enjoy learning and creating. I make sample-based music and enjoy designing and building wooden bookshelves to house my ever-growing library. I play soccer several times a week, where I patrol the back lines as a scrupulous defender. I am also a caregiver to three special needs cats, including a three-legged rescue affectionately named Archduke Trio.
