Having attended Monta Vista High School, I am well aware of the intense pressure students go through to balance challenging classes, extracurricular activities, and high-school/college applications. I hope I can alleviate some of this stress. I am also aware that each student learns at a different pace and requires a specific style of teaching to gain an understanding of the material. I strive to cater the way I teach to the learning style of each student.

I was born and raised in the bay area and lived in Cupertino for most of my life. I then went on to study Biochemistry at UCLA. There, I perfected my study skills, test-taking techniques, and concept mastery. I also had the opportunity to continue my work as a tutor. I did some 1-on-1 tutoring in high school as well as in college in the subjects of math, calculus, biology and chemistry. In addition, I frequently help my brother, who is a sophomore in high school, with his classes. I find tutoring immensely rewarding and love the moments when my students finally understand something they were struggling with.

My tutoring style emphasizes familiarization and confidence-building. I enjoy introducing younger students to standardized tests because I love seeing them realize that they can succeed on multiple choice and essays that seem (at first) to be different from assignments in school. My students come to see each question as a puzzle to be solved, and the test-taking process seems less intimidating and obscure. I also prize my sessions with high school science students, who benefit from my passion for biology and chemistry, as well as my ability to explain complex concepts in a simple way. Once students gain the right mindset, they can begin to unpack difficult questions on their own.

In my free time, I love to read, go on hikes, dance, and watch movies. I also enjoy attending concerts and going to the beach.
