I was raised in the Bay Area and attended Santa Clara University. I graduated with a BS and MS in Computer Engineering and worked as a Software Engineer before my love of math and desire to help students led me to pursue a career as a tutor. I greatly enjoy helping students develop their critical thinking and problem solving skills to achieve academic success.
As each student is unique and has a particular learning style, my goal is to adapt to each individual to facilitate effective instruction. I tailor my teaching method specifically to each student’s learning needs and encourage active participation in the learning process. As a tutor, I find it is especially useful to know when students are not comprehending, so I can show them multiple ways to solve a problem or provide different ways of viewing key concepts so that they can find one that resonates best. I encourage questions from students, listen, and strive to make math concepts easier to grasp.
Outside of tutoring, I enjoy reading, listening to music, spending time outdoors either participating in sports or hiking, and dabbling in graphic design.
