Course Description:

Health directly impacts every aspect of life, though its extent of impact is less clear. This seminar will explore various facets of health including physical, mental, intellectual and social well-being from a scientific and psychological lens. Topics include, but are not limited to, the physiological-psychological impacts and effects of stress, sleep, coping and optimism. Other topics include interpreting nutritional profiles and understanding current controversies and topics in nutrition from public health and research perspectives. Scientific concepts will be covered in greater depth for the more scientifically-inclined student.
This course will empower students to form healthy choices for a fulfilling life, champion the enthusiasm for health’s maintenance and promotion, and discover the information needed to attain the best possible health.
