  • Strengthen the ability to compare and contrast cultures through the lens of mythology
  • Develop critical thinking and public speaking skills
  • Complete a final project (either a comparative analysis essay, a visually striking presentation, or the creation of a new myth!) in collaboration with a tutor

Course Description:

Students will read the classics of world mythology (Sumerian, Greek, Chinese, Indian, African, Native American, Norse) and attend weekly discussion groups. In addition to having a superbly fun time reading about minotaurs, dragons, and the like, students will develop a detailed understanding of the civilizations that produced such stories. Students will further develop critical reading and public speaking abilities during “round table” reviews of assigned readings.
