Arjun Sharda

Biography

The experience of growing up in a north Indian household was imbued with grand history as the norm. Heated arguments over events and figures from hundreds (if not thousands) of years ago filled the dining rooms and dance halls of family functions.

I graduated from UC Davis in 2017 (go aggies!) with a major in history and minor in education. My passion for global political economy was sparked by a series of courses in U.S., Chinese, Indian, and colonial history. Visiting more of the US and traveling throughout East Asia since graduating college has filled me with an immense optimism for the long twenty first century, an optimism I hope will be contagious to my students!

I have experience teaching high schoolers in Davis English and human geography, placing an important emphasis not only on physical distances but also psychological distance between different peoples, and the reasonings behind it. As this year closes out and i join AJ tutoring I will be entering a masters program in supply chain and logistics management, holding in line with my passions and intellectual interests.

In my spare time I enjoy reading science fiction, mushroom hunting and lounging on Ocean Beach. I look forward to a fun and productive school year getting to know this wonderful community!
