Jennifer Zoland

Hello! My passion for history started when I was taking AP US History, where my teacher stressed the fact that the way history turned out was not something that was guaranteed to happen. This discovery piqued my interest and ended up changing my life path entirely. I majored in history in undergrad and received an MA in History from San Francisco State (go Gators!), where I specialized in Indigenous history.

Since graduating, I have been working in museums. I am very passionate about education and am excited to transition to teaching in a one-on-one setting instead of presenting to large groups on tours. My favorite moments of my job were always helping people get that “aha” moment of understanding, which is my goal for individualized tutoring as well. Two of my specific specialties lie in Native history and maritime history.

If I’m not working, you can probably find me hiking somewhere, playing video games, or reading in a park with some boba.
