I grew up in Mountain View, writing poetry and learning music history as hobbies, and when I applied to college, I had absolutely no idea what I was doing. Now, I find joy in offering guidance to students navigating that process so that they can approach it with confidence and clarity.
I majored in physics at UC Santa Barbara, but I really did not know what I wanted to do as a career. In exploring various opportunities in college, I volunteered at local high schools and kindergartens and found my passion for teaching. I completed my M.A. in education from Stanford and became a high school teacher in East San Jose teaching physics and forensic science. I enjoyed incorporating music, film, and TV into my lessons to make science more relatable (there’s a whole lot of physics in Marvel movies!).
Since then, I have completed a College Counseling Certificate at the UC Berkeley Extension and shifted my teaching practice toward advising high school students on their college applications. My favorite part of this work is getting to know my students and helping them highlight how amazing they are!
