Quincy Daniels

Academic Tutor

Although born in Seoul, South Korea, I grew up in Bay Area and graduated from the University of California, Davis, with a Bachelor of Arts in economics. I found myself missing school, and my desire to stay connected to the world of education led me to pursue tutoring.

I have always had a knack for mathematics, and my degree at Davis focused on economic decision making and game theory. I enjoy problem solving and applying mathematics to solve different problems. I know that many students are frustrated by math, I enjoy helping them hone the different techniques needed to succeed in all aspects of math.

My teaching experiences span from coaching a flag football team, where I taught 4th and 5th graders the fundamentals of football and helped them improve their individual skills, to helping my classmates and friends with their academics in school, to formal tutoring. I enjoy connecting with my students and learning about their aspirations in life, and I aim to tailor our sessions not only to their learning styles, but also to their goals. I want my students to understand why they’re learning math, and it’s important to me to encourage their initiative and curiosity.

Outside of academia, I really enjoy sports and working out, playing video games, and reading philosophy.
