Biography

I consider myself a bit of a world traveler, having lived in Caracas, Venezuela, Mexico City, Mexico, and Atlanta, Georgia. While living in the Southern United States, I attended Emory University. My ever-present pursuit for answers to the what’s, whys, and how’s of the world around me led me to pursue an undergraduate degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Law. With that course of study, I was able to apply philosophical and theoretical knowledge to real-world prerogatives and societal issues. My strong multicultural background also drew me towards a career teaching in Latin American and Caribbean Studies, where I applied the knowledge from my PPL classes to the Latin American history and idiosyncrasies being taught in the department.

I feel delighted that I have a career where I can pass my love of knowledge and of asking questions onto the next generation of students and scholars. I enjoy working in a one-on-one format with students to help support them in learning about history and literature. I consider my students my mentees and encourage them to ask questions so we can delve deeply into the material.

I also enjoy helping students in their journeys toward higher education. I believe that I bring the same passion to their educational paths that I once had for my own. My work tutoring the SAT is an important step in helping students achieve their college dreams. As someone who needed SAT tutoring myself, I understand and empathize with the challenges associated with taking this test, and I use my background to ensure my students have the necessary tools to overcome them.

Like many teachers, I’m a nerd. I absolutely love video games (of any kind, really—except for horror games) and am always down to have a movie-centric debate. I also have a massive love for animals, and if you tell me, you have pets, I will absolutely want to see pictures of them.

"I learned a lot of new tactics for the test taking as well as new content. I really liked the way my tutor presented the information and his level of understanding.  "
