Biography

As a graduate of UC Santa Cruz in the fields of physics and community studies, I inherited my passion for learning and teaching from my father and grandfather. Between my grandfather’s interest in teaching physics and math at an approachable level and my father’s ability to engage my curiosity about the way the world works, I have always been driven to learn and communicate my knowledge to anyone who will listen and make tough material as understandable as possible.

Throughout college, I worked as an informal tutor for my classmates and peers, ensuring that they could ask me about difficulties with material and shore up any skill. Now, at AJ Tutoring, I specializing in supporting students in math and physics. I believe that everyone can fully digest and understand all tough topics, no matter how daunting they may seem. Bridging the gap a matter of breaking things down to elements and materials that create the foundation and building from there. My goal is not only to make students enjoy the material they are studying, but also to nurture their interests and develop a passion for lifelong learning.

I enjoy learning about niche topics through Wikipedia deep dives, and finding the connections to subjects I teach. If you ever want to know more about the history of music samples, housing justice, public transit, linguistics or cultural geography, I’m your guy. Otherwise, I like to spend my time at home with my cat Gizmo, conversing with my friends, and learning as much as possible about the world.

Happy Parents and Students

"The most helpful part was how my tutor was able to explain all the math/physics concepts that I didn't understand in class. Which boosted by knowledge on the topics as well as my performance in school. "
