Biography

I earned my bachelor’s degree in molecular biology at UC Los Angeles, then went on to complete a PhD in cancer biology, genetics, and bioinformatics in UC San Francisco. Throughout my academic journey, I’ve taught high school students biology, Latin and lab techniques and graduate students more advanced topics like pharmacokinetics.

At AJ Tutoring, I focus on biology, chemistry, mathematics. I love helping students connect challenging concepts to real-world applications. Whether we’re exploring DNA replication or chemical reactions, I aim to build a strong foundation and foster curiosity. I believe that learning science should feel rewarding and exciting. I’ve always been fascinated by the interactions of molecules and how systems work together and hope to share this fascination with students.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy trying new dishes from different cultures, writing stories, and going on long runs. These interests keep me creative, grounded, and energized—qualities I bring into every tutoring session.
