Many colleges went test-optional or test-blind in 2020 because of COVID-related SAT and ACT cancellations and limited access to testing. Since then, a number of colleges have returned to requiring standardized test scores as part of the college admissions process.
The chart below contains a list of popular colleges that currently require standardized test scores (SAT, ACT , and in some cases AP/IB scores) for admission. Please keep in mind that there are other colleges not listed here that recommend submitting SAT scores or ACT scores (our college counseling team is happy to help you decide whether it makes sense to submit scores!).
We keep this list as up to date and accurate as possible, but standardized testing and college admissions is a constantly changing landscape. This list does not include every college in the United States that requires SAT or ACT scores. Please confirm standardized testing policies with each college.
