Biography

With over five years of experience in tutoring, educational program management, and curriculum development, I have worked with hundreds of students across grades 6–12. I am passionate about helping students achieve their academic goals, from earning top grades and AP scores to developing the critical thinking and learning skills that support long-term success.

Academically, I hold an M.A. in Biotechnology from Johns Hopkins University and a B.S. in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior with a minor in Psychology from UC Davis. As a scientist at heart, I’m passionate about sharing not just content knowledge, but also the critical thinking, study strategies, and problem-solving skills that have helped me throughout my own academic journey. While I specialize in Biology and Psychology, I also have extensive experience teaching Chemistry, Math, English, and SAT/ACT test preparation.

My teaching philosophy is simple: students learn best when they genuinely enjoy what they’re learning. The more engaged and curious my students become, the more motivated I am to help them grow and challenge themselves. In biology, we call this a positive feedback loop—I believe that when I help students become better learners, they help me become a better teacher. That’s why I love incorporating interactive activities, games, real-world examples, and personalized learning strategies into my lessons. My goal is to take concepts that may seem overwhelming in a textbook and make them approachable, memorable, and even fun.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy traveling, trying new foods, playing video games, playing badminton and golf, and keeping up with new developments in science and technology. Whether I’m designing a lesson, creating a new educational program, or working one-on-one with a student, I’m always looking for creative ways to make learning engaging and meaningful.
