Biography

Over the course of my career, that curiosity has taken me into classrooms, special education, academic advising, admissions, and one-on-one tutoring. Each experience has reinforced something I’ve long believed: every student is capable of meaningful growth when they’re taught in a way that makes sense to them. One of my favorite parts of tutoring is figuring out how each student thinks. Some students thrive with structure and repetition, while others need a different explanation, a new perspective, or simply the confidence to trust their own abilities. I enjoy that process of discovering what clicks for each learner and tailoring my approach accordingly. My goal is never just to help students memorize material or improve a test score—it’s to help them understand concepts deeply enough that they can apply them independently and with confidence.

I enjoy working with students across a wide range of subjects, whether we’re preparing for the SAT or ACT, strengthening classroom performance, or building study habits that make school less stressful and more rewarding. Watching a student go from “I don’t get this” to “I think I can do this” is one of the most satisfying parts of my job, and it’s what continues to inspire me as an educator.

I was drawn to AJ Tutoring because of its commitment to individualized instruction and the genuine care its tutors have for their students. Being part of a team that shares the belief that strong relationships are just as important as strong teaching is incredibly rewarding, and I’m excited to help students reach their academic goals while building confidence that extends well beyond the classroom.

Outside of tutoring, you’ll usually find me experimenting with new recipes, following soccer, taking long walks with my dog, or exploring everything the Bay Area has to offer. I believe curiosity is one of the most valuable qualities we can develop, and I hope every student I work with leaves our sessions feeling not only more knowledgeable, but also more confident, more resilient, and more excited to learn.
