Biography

Growing up in the Bay Area, I followed my love of literature to UC Davis, where I earned a B.A. in English with honors. Each text I studied, from Joyce’s Ulysses to Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland, taught me the value of critical thinking and clear writing. Attending school during the rise of AI and computer-generated essays, I grew to further appreciate the power of formulating and expressing your own analytical arguments.

I always knew that I wanted to teach, and my years of tutoring experience only cemented this goal. Seeing a student grow into a confident, curious learner who comes to class excited is immensely rewarding, and I am determined to help every child reach this point. Receiving a strong education in English allows students to expand their worldview, think for themselves, and communicate effectively, all while experiencing the magic of escaping into a story. In every session, I strive to create a warm, nurturing environment that also challenges students to think deeply. Each student has a unique set of skills and needs, and I will work hard to discover them and to foster a genuine love of literature.

When I’m not tutoring, I love to read classics and literary fiction, study medieval art history, and watch mystery movies.
