AP Seminar Primer

This class provides an introduction to AP Seminar, with a particular focus on research and on evaluating and synthesizing sources.  This class will teach students how to brainstorm research topics, gather and evaluate potential sources from a variety of perspectives, and produce clear, effective writing.

Course Description:

This class is designed for both students with reservations about taking the AP Seminar class and for those who are looking to get ahead. Conducting effective research (from topic selection to presentation) and synthesizing evidence are requirements of the AP course, and this class will provide a framework for doing these tasks effectively.  Topics this course covers include the research process, evaluation of sources, and synthesis of evidence. We also integrate the study of annotation, evidence selection, and paraphrasing, into our study.
