Biography

I have always been drawn to science, nature, and the living world. That curiosity led me to Stanford University, where I earned both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Earth Systems, studying biology, ecology, environmental science, and the relationships between people and the environments around them.

During my time at Stanford, I discovered how much I enjoy education and working with students. As a teaching assistant for several undergraduate courses, I supported students through class discussions, assignments, field activities, and office hours. Those experiences showed me how rewarding it can be to help students slow down, talk through their thinking, and find the explanation that finally makes a difficult concept click.

At AJ Tutoring, I am excited to work with students in biology and algebra. Biology has always been one of my favorite subjects because it helps us better understand the living world, from cells and genetics to ecosystems and evolution. I also enjoy teaching algebra because it gives students the problem-solving foundation they will rely on throughout their math education. I know that both science and math can feel intimidating at times, so I aim to create a supportive space where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and building confidence in their own abilities. My goal is to help students strengthen their skills while also helping them see themselves as capable learners.

Outside of tutoring, I enjoy reading sci-fi and fantasy books, watching horror movies, exploring art and science museums, running Dungeons & Dragons games for my friends, playing video games, hiking local trails, and birdwatching.
