Biography

From a young age I developed a love of reading, and read anything I could get my hands on. This love of reading eventually began translating into a love of education and learning, which fueled my passions and dream of going to college. I graduated from UC Santa Barbara in June of 2024 with degrees in political science and feminist studies and even did it in three years with the credits I received from the many Advanced Placement exams I passed during high school. I take great pride in my development of productive study habits and time management skills I have honed over the years.

In my many years working with students, my first priority is always the wellbeing of my students and nurturing a love for learning coupled with the growth of mental discipline and development of study habits. I have been working with students for many years, in high school I volunteered for a reading tutoring program and was even a cabin leader at Outdoor Ed. In college I was accepted as part of the Teach for America fellowship program working with 3rd and 8th graders on reading and math. I also was part of a cohort of students interested in Ethnic Studies at the high school level and I spent a year working with high school students. Working with students is
empowering and inspiring to me because I am able to see the first hand growth of the student and person I am working with. Even if I am the tutor or just there to answer a question I continue to learn and grow as a tutor, because the students I am working with are always teaching me things as well.

I do still love reading, I almost always carry a book with me. I am also a sports fanatic, I love watching the Bay Area sports teams particularly the Giants, the 49ers, and the Warriors. I spend most of my time with my family, especially cheering on my little sister who, not only is a junior in high school, is also a competitive softball player (Go Wildcats!). I listen to a great variety of music, I have seen Taylor Swift and the Rolling Stones at Levi Stadium but have also traveled to Las Vegas to see Billy Joel and when I’m studying or focusing I am particularly fond of rainy jazz or lo-fi music.
