Biography

I earned my bachelor’s degree in molecular biology from UCLA before completing a PhD in cancer biology, genetics, and bioinformatics at UCSF. Throughout my academic journey, I’ve had the opportunity to teach a wide range of students: from high schoolers learning biology, Latin, and laboratory techniques to graduate students exploring advanced topics such as pharmacokinetics.

At AJ Tutoring, I specialize in biology, chemistry, and mathematics. I enjoy helping students connect challenging concepts to real-world applications, making complex ideas more accessible and meaningful. Whether we’re diving into DNA replication or breaking down chemical reactions, my goal is to build a strong foundation while fostering curiosity and confidence. I believe that learning science should feel both rewarding and exciting.

I’ve always been fascinated by how molecules interact and how complex systems work together, and I strive to share that sense of wonder with my students.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy exploring new cuisines, writing stories, and going on long runs. These activities keep me creative, grounded, and energized. These are qualities I try to bring into every tutoring session!
