Cassidy Robbins

Biography

I graduated from the University of Virginia in May 2026 with a B.S. in Biology. My degree involved extensive upper-division biology training as well as general and organic chemistry. I was heavily involved in my research lab studying radial astroglia in the zebrafish optic tectum, where I was published as a second author in Cell Reports. I have a deep passion for science, and my experience in both biology and chemistry has given me broad knowledge of the subjects.

At the University of Virginia, I was a member of the Jefferson Literary and Debating Society. As a member of this 200-year-old institution, I grew a love of communicating scientific concepts. I enjoy breaking down complex subjects and explaining them in a way that is easier to comprehend. My teaching philosophy stems from reframing the saying, “What if I can’t do it?” Instead, I meet students with the perspective shift: “What if I CAN?” A growth mindset and the belief that one can achieve are vital to learning, and I seek to impart this lesson to my students.

Outside of tutoring, I love Pilates, hiking, and playing guitar. I am currently applying to medical school and hope to become a pediatric oncologist.
