Biography

I grew up in the Bay Area, attending high school here before going on to earn a B.A. in philosophy, politics and economics from the University of Oxford, and a master’s of science in psychology from the University of St. Andrews. I feel lucky to have been able to pursue the disciplines that I am interested in, and I hope to assist other students as they explore and discover their passions.

Both at university and prior to it, tutoring and mentoring has always been a cornerstone of my education. I have been fortunate to have had the support of great academic mentors, and I hope to provide the same guidance for others. In my experience, tutoring is more than just academic support: it is a safe space for students to challenge themselves, test new ideas, and explore their interests.

My tutoring philosophy is to meet every student where they need me. Whether a student is looking for additional practice, lesson review, or something else, I’m happy to adapt to the academic and personal needs of the student. In the past, I’ve worked as a debate coach with Fremont Debate Academy and as a teaching assistant with Art of Problem Solving. With this diverse teaching and mentoring experience, I’m always happy to discuss extracurriculars or bring an interdisciplinary angle to my tutoring.

Outside of the classroom, I’m getting used to the California landscape again, hiking and vaguely training for a triathlon. I also play a bit of chess and ice hockey when I can.
