Elizabeth Mensah

Academic and Test Prep Tutor

Biography

I first moved to the Bay Area to work as a biochemistry  research assistant at Stanford University.  Though I enjoyed working in the lab, I found that I was more drawn to explaining my results to general audiences than conducting experiments. I decided to transition to becoming a tutor as a result.

Though AJ tutoring will be my first time tutoring in a professional setting, I had experience as a teaching assistant and team learning leader during my college days at Johns Hopkins University. Through these opportunities, I had the chance to help students who struggled with different portions of the material and thus gained experience in identifying and closing content gaps. I hope those skills I gained during that time to my time with students at AJ Tutoring.

When I am not working, I love to knit and crochet. I also love to watch and discuss TV shows, specifically k-dramas, with friends.

Happy Parents and Students

""My experience was great and I know that there are many tutors with different kinds of teaching methods so a wide range of people can receive the help they need.""
