Biography

I believe that success in and out of the classroom is not determined by innate talent, but by passion, resilience, and a supportive, enriching environment. This belief has shaped my own academic and learning journey. I was born in Arkansas and raised in Lafayette, California, where I attended Acalanes High School. There, I took various AP classes, acted in theatre productions, and competed as a student-athlete – not because they all came easily, but because I developed a fervent curiosity and drive to grow. I continued to explore new topics at Boston College, where I graduated with a B.S. in Psychology, with a minor in Computer Science.

While my academic interests have shifted and expanded over time, one constant has been my passion for working with children and my commitment to doing work that supports them. In middle and high school I was a part of a non-profit theatre group that entertained children at hospitals and special needs organizations. Later, I tutored and mentored K–12 students through after-school programs at the Watertown Boys and Girls Club. These roles taught me how to meet young people where they are, adapt to different learning styles, and create spaces where kids feel seen, supported, and capable.

I find it incredibly fulfilling to tutor K-8 students and high school students. My aim is not just to help students reach their immediate academic goals, but to foster a growth mindset that propels them in any discipline.

Outside of tutoring, I enjoy playing basketball, doing puzzles, and going to the movies with friends. I’m a lifelong learner myself, and I’m currently exploring future paths that align with my passion for supporting young people—possibly in child psychology or legal advocacy. Wherever that leads, I know that I want to do work that creates healthy, enriching environments where young people can thrive.
