Biography

Growing up, math and physics were some of my favorite subjects because they acted as tools to help me perceive the world. Whether that be wondering why I was squished against the side of the car on sharp turns to figuring out how to swing higher on the playground, these essential concepts provided reasons to make sense of everyday experiences. As I transitioned to high school, my involvement with running cross country sparked an interest towards injury prevention and the biomechanics of movement, which led me to pursue my B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Rochester.

During college, I began working as a peer tutor and I discovered how much I enjoyed the process of helping others learn. Breaking down concepts for students with different learning styles challenged me to think more creatively and deepen my own understanding, and I found it incredibly rewarding to see students build confidence and reach their academic goals. I tutored across subjects of math, physics, and engineering and also served as an undergraduate teaching assistant. In addition, I’ve worked with younger kids as a summer camp counselor and after-school instructor, which has reinforced my belief to approach teaching scenarios with patience, flexibility, and enthusiasm.

Outside of work, I love staying active and spending time with friends and family. You can find me at the climbing gym working through bouldering problems, playing ultimate frisbee with friends, or drawing and scrapbooking my newest adventure.
