Biography

I was born and raised in Cupertino, where I attended Monta Vista High School. I was drawn to my science classes there and their application to understanding how the human body works. I was fascinated by the process of breaking down complex concepts and turning them into something tangible and meaningful.

This passion for science led me to pursue a degree in biochemistry at Case Western Reserve University, where I sought to deepen my understanding of metabolism and the molecular mechanisms that sustain life. During college, I became deeply involved in cancer research and had the opportunity to serve as a teaching assistant for an introductory biochemistry course. Mentoring students in the lab and leading review sessions quickly became one of the most fulfilling parts of my college experience. I found immense joy in helping students build confidence in challenging material and develop a genuine interest in biochemistry and its application to cancer research.

At AJ Tutoring, I also work to strengthen students’ understanding of biology and chemistry while inspiring genuine curiosity about science. My tutoring philosophy centers on the belief that, with the right support, every student can succeed. I strive to create a learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, working through challenges, and building their confidence step-by-step.

In my free time, I enjoy running and am currently training for the Cleveland Half Marathon. I also love crocheting, and enjoy playing pick-up volleyball whenever I can.
