Biography

I was born and raised in Cupertino, CA, where I attended Monta Vista High School (MVHS). At MVHS, I was drawn to my science classes and their application to understanding how the human body works. I was fascinated by the process of breaking down complex concepts and turning them into something tangible and meaningful.

This passion led me to pursue a degree in biochemistry at Case Western Reserve University, where I sought to deepen my understanding of metabolism and the molecular mechanisms that sustain life. During college, I became heavily involved in cancer research and had the opportunity to serve as a teaching assistant for introductory biochemistry. Mentoring students in the lab and leading review sessions quickly became some of the most fulfilling parts of my college experience. I found immense joy in helping students build confidence in challenging material and develop a genuine interest in biochemistry and its application to cancer research.

At AJ Tutoring, I hope not only to strengthen students’ understanding of biology and chemistry, but also to inspire genuine curiosity about science. My tutoring philosophy centers on the belief that, with the right support, every student can succeed. I strive to create a learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, working through challenges, and building confidence step by step.

In my free time, I am currently training for the Cleveland Half Marathon and love crocheting. I also enjoy playing pick-up volleyball whenever I can. I appreciate the balance of staying active through long runs and competitive games while also slowing down and being creative with hands-on crochet projects.

This July, I will be starting medical school, and I will be with AJ Tutoring through the end of the spring semester. I’m thrilled to be part of the team and excited to work with students who are ready to challenge themselves and grow.
