Biography

Hi there! My name is Lally, and I’ve enjoyed working with students of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities for more than 15 years. My experience includes tutoring elementary and middle school students, teaching middle and high school students in the classroom, and serving as a graduate student assistant and assistant lecturer at the university level. Throughout my career, I’ve taught elementary and middle school math; English and test prep for elementary, middle, and high school students; high school biology and human biology; and graduate-level physiology.

As a tutor, my goal is to help each student become comfortable with their course material, recognize their strengths, and develop strategies to work through challenges. I believe the one-on-one relationship between a tutor and student creates a valuable opportunity to understand each student’s individual needs and develop a personalized approach to learning. I bring warmth and encouragement to my sessions, and I firmly believe every student has the potential to learn, grow, and develop a lifelong passion for learning. I strive to create an environment where students feel supported, build confidence in their abilities, and feel comfortable asking questions as they work toward their goals.

I earned my undergraduate degree in biology from UC Berkeley and my graduate degree in biology, with an emphasis in physiology, from San Jose State University. My academic background allows me to draw on my knowledge of biology and physiology while supporting students across a variety of subjects and learning levels.

Outside of tutoring, I enjoy reading, writing, playing the piano, and singing!
