Biography

Before joining AJ Tutoring, I received a Bachelor of Arts in English and International Studies from Boston College, and went on to pursue postbaccalaureate studies at Columbia University, focusing on the Victorian novel. Upon graduating, I moved to Korea, where I worked as a college admissions consultant and private tutor and curriculum developer.

With a cumulative ten years of experience educating native and non-native English speakers alike and eight years of consulting under my belt, I have helped students secure offers to universities including every Ivy League school, Stanford, UC Berkeley, Rice, University of Michigan, Carnegie Mellon, WashU, USC, UT Austin, Parsons, and many more.

As a college counselor, I am responsible for guiding students and their parents through the college admissions process, but more importantly, I strive to help each student develop his or her voice, or “personal brand,” which is reflected throughout his or her application. One of my favorite aspects of my job is building rapport with my students, as I enjoy drawing out their unique narratives.

In my spare time, I am sure to be practicing the art of being “leader of the pack” to my black Lab, London, and two French Bulldogs, Isla and Silas, whom I fondly refer to as the “Evil Twins.”
