Biography

I have been teaching in one form or another for most of my adult life. Since graduating from Amherst College and moving to the Bay Area in 2013, I’ve worked with learners ranging from young children discovering music for the first time to high school students tackling calculus, SAT prep, and advanced problem solving.

My educational journey has taken me in many directions. I’ve enjoyed years at AJ Tutoring leading SAT, ACT, and math preparation; founding a Bay Area music education program in preschools; managing edtech startup operations; crafting campaigns and events at The Nueva School. These eclectic experiences have deepened my appreciation for the many people and systems that help students thrive.

As an educator, I believe that learning works best when students feel both supported and challenged. I love asking questions, encouraging curiosity, and helping students discover that they are capable of more than they initially thought. Whether it’s standardized testing, algebra or calculus, academic study skills, or simply guiding a student’s passion into deep learning, my goal is always the same: to help students become more confident, independent learners.

Outside of work, you’ll often find me on a tennis court, playing piano, reading, or trying new food spots with friends. Learning doesn’t stop when school ends!
