Biography

With my communications background, I’ve always embraced being a people person, finding joy in building relationships and fostering spaces where everyone feels welcome. Growing up in my Cantonese-American household, the value of education has always been deeply woven into my upbringing. I still remember my grandparents telling me when I was a little girl, ‘No one can ever take your education away from you. What you learn stays with you forever.’ This perspective has shaped my outlook on learning ever since. 

My approach as a college counselor is centered on empowering students, meeting them where they are, and helping them unveil their own aspirations. As a former AJ student and Saratoga High School alum, I understand the challenges of balancing student life. From advising on personal essays to finding colleges that fit, I guide students through every step of the college application process. Having been unsure of my own career aspirations in high school, I understand how overwhelming the journey can feel and aim to make it more manageable for students and parents.

Born and raised in the Bay Area, I moved to the Midwest to receive my B.A. in Business Communications from Purdue University, where I served as a Dean’s Ambassador for the College of Liberal Arts. I loved my time as an undergraduate at Purdue, and that experience is a big part of why I do what I do today. After leaving the Midwestern cornfields, I earned my M.A. in Digital Communications at Johns Hopkins University, fostering my enthusiasm for storytelling and mentorship. Post-grad, I’ve worked as a Brand Strategist at SoFi, developing campaigns to boost financial confidence, and as Social Media Manager at KiwiCo, promoting hands-on learning for kids. 

My heart has always been in education, and I’m committed to helping my students find joy and purpose in their own journeys. When I’m not at AJ, you’ll find me enjoying live music, practicing yoga, making crafts, trying new foods, or spending time with friends and family.
