Savannah Conlon

Biography

My love for Science and Math started at a very young age when I would perform experiments like exploding volcanoes with baking soda and vinegar. In high school, I excelled in classes such as AP Biology and AP Chemistry, so I decided to pursue a career in STEM.

I became involved in teaching roles early on because I wanted to share my love of these subjects with other students and help them excel. As I pursued an advanced degree in Chemistry at UC Davis, my love for teaching grew. I had the opportunity to teach class sizes of 50+ students in various Chemistry and Biology courses. My years of experience in the classroom have strengthened my ability to explain challenging material in a way that is engaging and accessible. While at UC Davis, I also spent 6 years tutoring students one-on-one, and I loved being able to tailor learning styles to individual students.

With my experience teaching supporting students through the SAT, ACT, AP Biology, and AP Chemistry exams, I build students’ mastery and confidence in not only the subject matter but also crucial test familiarity and test-taking strategies, time management skills, and methods for reducing test anxiety.

I look forward to helping students reach their full potential and gain confidence whether they are tackling foundational concepts or preparing for advanced exams. My tutoring approach centers on building a strong foundation in core concepts and expanding to various applications while tailoring each session to the individual student’s needs. I often use visual aids, real-world examples, and practice problems to reinforce difficult topics, making abstract concepts easier to understand. By creating a supportive, patient, and interactive environment, I am excited to support your student’s confidence and mastery in Biology, Chemistry, and the SAT!

When I’m not teaching, you can find me in the kitchen cooking and baking all sorts of new foods and recipes!
