Academic and Test Prep Tutor

Biography

Growing up in the Bay Area, I’ve always been surrounded by great teachers and mentors who helped me develop a love of learning and studying. I studied computer science at UC Riverside, where I was able to fully immerse myself in academics while learning and trying challenging subjects. At college, I tutored other undergraduate students in math and computer science courses, and discovered how rewarding it is to help others become more confident in their academic journeys.

As a tutor, I enjoy breaking down complex math concepts into digestible steps and showing students how to critically think about problems. My favorite part of the process is when a student gains the confidence and skills to approach questions on their own using what they have learned. I’ve found that the SAT in particular is something that gets much easier once a student understands the patterns of the questions. I believe that tutoring students one-to-one is great for building trust between student and tutor, as each student communicates and learns in their own unique way.

To help students reach their fullest potential on standardized tests and in their academic coursework, I like to make tutoring an engaging experience that is tailored to each individual student. Part of the fun of tutoring is discovering what makes something finally click for one student, even though it might not work for another. I work hard to balance challenging students with instilling confidence in them.

Outside of tutoring, I enjoy reading novels, relaxing at the beach, and thrifting. I could probably spend hours getting lost browsing through all the cool items in a vintage store!

Happy Parents and Students

""The most helpful part of my tutoring was that my tutor would always address my biggest struggles and needs for improvement. This technique allowed me to become confident in all parts of the SAT, with no evident weakness.""
