Emily Morton

Biography

I grew up in Saratoga, California. I have always had a passion for supporting students in my community. After earning my bachelor’s degree in English from UC Berkeley, I gained valuable experience in education through mentoring and tutoring students of all ages, from young learners building foundational skills to college students navigating high-level academic challenges.

Before joining AJ Tutoring, I worked in roles that strengthened my ability to connect with students and help them succeed in their educational journey, including as a mentor at Foothill College and UC Berkeley and as an academic tutor at Kumon. I’ve also worked roles in communications and content creation, experiences that honed my organization and communication skills, which are all key to my tutoring practice.

At AJ Tutoring, I focus on helping students build confidence, strengthen their study skills, and deepen their comprehension of the academic material. I believe in meeting each student where they are, taking the time to understand their strengths, learning style, and individual goals. My overarching goal is to create a supportive, encouraging environment that helps students grow, overcome challenges, and thrive both academically and personally.

When I’m not tutoring, you can find me enjoying a spirited drive-up Highway 9, spending time with my newly adopted kitten, or exploring my latest interest — sport bikes.
