Hanna Koo

Academic and Test Prep Tutor

Biography

My childhood involved lots of moving around—I lived in Missouri and Oregon before finally settling down in the Sacramento area for the majority of my K-12 education. I then moved to San Jose after my freshman year of college, and I really love the nice weather and good food here!

I studied computer science at UC Davis, and had my first professional experience tutoring with the Academic Assistance and Tutoring Center (AATC) at Davis. For almost two years, I helped my fellow college students achieve success in various computer science courses. This is when I really fell in love with tutoring, and discovered the fulfillment in mentoring students and helping them grow academically. One-on-one tutoring is an amazing resource, and I am confident that it will be beneficial to students of all backgrounds.

The strategies taught at AJ Tutoring will help students feel prepared for all types of questions on the SAT, and I am excited to guide them through the curriculum. I hope to create a comfortable, welcoming, and productive environment that will support students in reaching their goals. By paying attention to each individual student’s needs, I will target points where students feel unconfident and help them achieve their personal best. All in all, I aim to build a strong relationship with my students and grow their confidence in test-taking.

Outside of tutoring, I like doing various arts and crafts, drawing and crocheting being the most common, and playing video games.

Happy Parents and Students

""I learned a lot of new tactics for the test taking as well as new content. I really liked the way my tutor presented the information and his level of understanding.""
