Biography

After graduating in the top 1% of my class at Cornell University as a Merrill Presidential Scholar, I knew that education and mentorship would remain central to my life. I began tutoring K–12 and SAT students in 2017, and since 2021, I have also guided students through the college admissions process. Over the years, I have seen my students achieve remarkable results, including SAT score improvements averaging over 300 points and getting into their top choice colleges. I believe deeply in equal access to education and in providing students with the tools they need to succeed.

At Cornell, I served as a head teaching assistant for General Chemistry, where I helped restructure the curriculum, and as a teaching assistant for Biochemistry, where I founded a discussion section that was later integrated into the course. I also mentored students from disadvantaged backgrounds as a Study Group Leader and Vice President of the Biology Scholars Program. Beyond academics, I served as a student advisor, resident advisor, and director of my dorm’s student council. These experiences strengthened my commitment to mentorship and gave me the skills to support students in a variety of ways.

At AJ Tutoring, I bring this same commitment to my students. My philosophy is rooted in personalization, since I believe every student can excel once we discover how they learn best. Whether a student is a visual, auditory, or hands-on learner, I design individualized study plans that play to their strengths and build confidence. Tutoring is more than teaching content. It is about mentorship, encouragement, and creating a supportive environment where students feel heard. Watching students grow into confident learners is one of the most rewarding parts of my work.

Outside of AJ Tutoring, I am passionate about research, mentorship, and community service. I have worked on research projects related to Parkinson’s disease and cardiovascular health, founded mentorship programs to help students from diverse backgrounds pursue higher education, and organized community initiatives ranging from disaster relief missions to local food drives. Supporting others, whether in academics or in life, has always been at the heart of who I am.

""Walking through question with my tutor was extremely helpful as he was able to break down his entire process when going over a question. I feel like a learned the most there.""
