Biography

Born and raised in the bay, I’m passionate about giving back to my community and being a mentor in all ways that I can! After high school, I went to Skyline College and transferred to UC Berkeley (go bears!), where I got my BS in mechanical engineering, and certificates in tech entrepreneurship and startup law. Community college was an accessible way for me to obtain a higher education, taking the necessary courses and exploring my passions in order to gain a better understanding of what I wanted to major in. During my time at Berkeley, I was involved in Society of Women Engineers as part of transfer outreach, and am passionate about equity in education and the community college transfer process. I also tutored chemistry and math
at the collegiate level, working with students of all ages, in addition to being a peer mentor for both prospective and current college students. I am excited to be combining those experiences in order to work with students at AJ!

I aim to create personalized experiences for students to maximize their learning and build strong foundations for their education. As someone who has gone through the process of taking both AP and rigorous college-level courses, I understand the experiences students are going through, and have been through the uncertainty of the transition period between high school and college, with countless exams and sleepless nights. I work to be a tutor that not only helps students to ace their exams, but also to grow during the process and be able to gain a deeper level of understanding of the material, beyond just a test score or homework grade. The education system presents many challenges, and an individualized approach can help students to build confidence and create their own stepping stones for success. I try to embody an empathetic leadership style, putting myself in their shoes and trying to think of ways to cater the
learning experience. I am also a community builder, and aim to foster an inclusive community and safe space for students to ask questions and be a catalyst for growth.

Outside of work, I enjoy watching F1 and basketball, in addition to playing golf, listening to music in different languages and varying BPMs, and reviewing local food and boba places. I also consider myself a curious lifelong learner, and am continuously working towards maximizing my learning and getting to know the world around me and beyond!
