Adulting is hard! Let’s talk about budgeting, getting a job, what a credit score is, and how all these things and more can wildly affect your life.

Recommended hours: 3-6

Course Description:

Adulting 101 will help ease the long and difficult transition into adulthood. The course will cover important job topics like resumes and interviews, money topics like budgeting and credit, and self care topics like emotional wellbeing and boundaries. We will cover not only what credit is, but why you need it; not only resume format, but how to create attention grabbing sentences.

This course will largely be driven by student interest, and topics include a selection of (but also are not limited to) the following:

  • the basics of budgeting
  • personalized budget spreadsheets
  • the voting process
  • the basics of credit
  • the format of a resume and cover letter
  • interview etiquette
  • filing taxes
  • writing letters
