AP European History Topics:

We will select and teach the topics that will best match your student’s level and interest and build a personally tailored curriculum from these sample lessons.

Objective Knowledge and Subjective Vision

To understand the ‘Rebirth’ of knowledge in Europe students must also understand the so-called Dark Age that had come before, as well as how exactly this new information might shape the world to come.

Poverty and Prosperity

Much of the story of Europe is the story of changing modes of production and distributions of wealth. We’ll peek at the feudal/manorial systems of the monarchical powers and the trading routes just opening up.

Interaction of Europe & the World

Europe’s course through the Renaissance was shaped by the influence of the Islamic world to the south and east, while the rich trade with far-off Asia would pull navigators around Africa, and even west to a new world…

States & Other Institutions of Power

Students will need to understand the late-feudal power structure of the European monarchies, the intricacies of the republican city-states, and the influence of the Catholic church on European affairs.

Individuals & Society

An individual’s behavior is shaped by social expectations. We’ll explore how ideas about gender, race, class, religion and ethnicity and created and modified.
