Course Description:

Statistical literacy is more important than ever in our data-driven world. This class is designed to get students ready to ace their upcoming AP Statistics course. It focuses on graphical displays of data, experimental design, regression analysis, probability, and a comprehensive preview of the first semester of AP Statistics.

We will also emphasize the real-world applications of statistics and interpretation of data at a manageable pace.

AP Statistics Primer Topics:

We will select and teach the topics that will best match your student’s level and interest and build a personally tailored curriculum from these sample lessons.

Graphical displays of data

Box plots, histograms, (cumulative) frequency plots, summary statistics

Regression Analysis

Scatterplots, correlation, residual plots

Experimental Design

Sampling methods, bias, randomized controlled experiments (best practices), matched pairs
