Course Description:

This summer bridge is built to prepare students for the rigors of the AP US Government and Politics class. It will focus on building the foundational constitutional knowledge and the essay writing skills that they’ll need through the course and the test.

 

AP US Government Primer Topics:

We will select and teach the topics that will best match your student’s level and interest and build a personally tailored curriculum from these sample lessons.

The Constitution

Its amendments, and the foundation of the federal system

The Beliefs

The ideological underpinnings of public and political behavior

The Participants

The American political parties, sub-party interest groups, and the role of media

The Policy

The federal institutions and public policy

The People

Civil rights, civil liberties, and civic participation

Critical Supreme Court cases and watershed elections
