Course Description:

Many people learn how to play guitar on their own without lessons, but developing introductory guitar skills can be quite frustrating and difficult without support. Without proper technique, it can be difficult to play guitar chords clearly and strum or pick the guitar at the same time to play a song. In this Beginner Acoustic Guitar course, students are given individualized support and guidance as they go through the learning process of playing their own acoustic guitar. Instruction includes how to hold a guitar properly, play guitar chords with correct technique, and become comfortable with a few strumming and picking patterns for songs.

This course is for students who haven’t played guitar before, who are having trouble learning chords, or who are just starting to learn how to play songs on guitar. By the end of this course, students will be able to read chords and tablature to play songs on guitar, play new songs of their choice on their own, and continue to develop their skills independently at the introductory to intermediate level.
