Introduction to Brazilian Portuguese

Traveling to Portugal or Brazil? Interested in learning a second (or third, or fourth) language? Learning Brazilian Portuguese is easy and fun! We’ll learn conversational skills, pronunciation, regional accents, and even non-verbal communication strategies!

Course Description:

In this course, students of all ages will have the chance to learn a new alphabet, make basic sentences in a new language, and become familiar with another culture. Students will assess their starting fluency with the help of the instructor, map out their proficiency goals for the summer, and then work hard (and have fun!) meeting them! Possible areas of focus include reading comprehension, listening comprehension, conversation, understanding videos, understanding the words in Brazilian music, and more. This is a highly student-centered course that can also be adapted for students who would like to develop intermediate or advanced fluency.
