Language of Music: Italian Poetry

The Italian language is responsible for the birth of music theater. But what is it about Italian that is so fundamentally musical?

Course Description:

Get acquainted with the greats of Italian poetry, and the devices, tropes and themes that characterize works like the so-called ‘Divine Comedy.’ Study the rich tradition of the delivery of Italian poetry onstage and learn to elocute DaPonte’s recitative like a pro!

Great for musicians and Italophiles alike; no knowledge of Italian required.
