Course Description:

“Translator, traitor.” This old Italian saying laments what is lost as a text crosses the divide between languages. But can anything be gained? Get acquainted with the theory of translation, learn from famous examples, and try your hand at this intersection of logic and literature. With weekly feedback from your instructor, you’ll end the course with your own translation of a set of poems or a short story.

A mind-expanding experience for anyone interested in creative writing or poetry, this course is designed for students with advanced knowledge of any foreign language.
