Course Description:

In course, we’ll cover the arc of World History, but we won’t worry about a bunch of names and dates. Instead, we’ll look at visual timelines, study maps, and learn about different civilizations: how they grew up in their environment, how they met external challenges, and why they eventually were smoothed over into oblivion by the winds of history.

We won’t learn about “great men,” but we will learn the stories of a few really interesting people. In doing this, we’ll end up learning so much more about the times they lived in.

Lastly, students who complete the full course will find themselves naturally well positioned to succeed on the SAT Subject Test in World History, should they choose to take it. However, the primary goal of this course will be driven by student interests.
