Born in Irvine and raised in Morgan Hill, I embarked a career in education in order to guide the next generation toward their aspirations and their highest potential. My academic career began at UCLA, where I delved into the intricate world of psychobiology. Later, at Samuel Merritt University’s podiatric medical school, I developed a deeper appreciation for understanding material through various modalities and maintaining one’s mental health—an invaluable lesson that has echoed throughout my role as an educator.
As an algebra tutor, I aim to bring enjoyable techniques into my tutoring sessions so that I may not only educate students, but also engage them and nurture their curiosity in new ways. I draw from a diverse tutoring background, from high school to medical school and beyond, and my tutoring philosophy revolves around bringing a fresh perspective to every session. I want to meet my students where they are at and present material in a context that meets their learning styles. Within the 1-on-1 tutoring format, I personalize sessions, teaching content and long-term study strategies while guiding students through balancing the demands of their coursework, extracurriculars, and other interests.
I hold to a simple yet powerful mantra: “Just keep swimming.” I believe that anyone can achieve success through perseverance, resilience, and the steadfast pursuit of one’s goals.
Beyond academics, my interests include kickboxing, MMA, and weightlifting.
