Biography

I’m a Bay Area native who grew up in Los Altos, where I gained a passion for learning and challenging myself in school and sports (tennis and soccer) from a young age. At UCLA, I pursued a degree in Business Economics with minors in Computer Science and Education Studies. Through a combination of student organizations and Education Studies courses, I discovered my passion for mentorship and my desire to change the education system.

I am a math teacher by trade. I hold a Master’s in Teaching from the University of San Francisco. For 6 years, I taught in various schools in the Bay Area teaching math and computer science. Too often, I see students discouraged by the idea that they are either a “math person” or they’re not. I’m invested in disrupting that myth and showing students that everyone can succeed in math with the right balance of hard work, resilience, support, and practical tools. While I loved my time in the classroom, I am excited to shift my impact toward supporting students through 1-on-1 tutoring. I find that 1-on-1 work can be more personalized and dynamic to a student’s needs, and I work with students and families to center students’ strengths while working toward their goals.

My tutoring approach is to make learning approachable, fun, build strong relationships, and help students unlock more confidence and skills they can apply in their studies and beyond. Communication and transparency are important to me, and I prioritize clear communication with students and families to make sure we are all working as a team to give as much support to our learners as possible.

When I’m not working with students, you can usually find me absorbed in a thriller novel, training for my first marathon, or hanging out with (bothering) my cats.
